1st of all no one said anything about anyone getting their IP permabanned if they don't type in their password

2nd these measures are there cause certain members can't keep themselves from posting highly inappropriate content not to disturb anybody

3rd we might not even have to do this if you had done your job in the first place instead of just complaining about other people doing theirs

Haha, why do you even lie? So, I didn't get my IP permabanned? I imagined all of it myself, I guess. Sure, obviously I was unbanned after a few mins (or at least that's what they told me, didn't try to come back to test that out, but I assume it was), that doesn't change the fact that it was a highly idiotic measure to set up, imagine if I wanted to go back and there weren't anyone to unban me...

Oh, if we wanna prevent that, why don't we just lock the chat, that way no one will even post anything even close to inappropriate; I mean, if we're gonna go to extremes, why don't we go to the total one?

My job? I am (was) a regular user in the chat with no powers whatsoever, and I wasn't even there to begin with, what's my job supposed to be? What a pathetic argument, so regular users have to clean up the admins' mess?

1st You where creating a mess in places you where appointed to prevent such things... so don't complain about other people doing their job...

2nd There are such things as technical difficulties... deal with it... at least you weren't banned just for fun... oh right... that's the sort of thing you did... just see it as a joke...

Well, if you admins job is to screw up everyone, you really deserve a pat in the back, you're doing an excellent job, very commendable. Y'know, you're having quite many "techincal difficulties" lately, like blocking new signups (what happened to "open site", it's open but not so much since you had to tell someone you wanted a new user because oh we have to approve it, what's this, back to the "2 weeks to analyze if X is worth" era?), blocking the chat to everyone not signed up without even advice (which itself is stupid), holding signups in the queue for days because "oh, no one checked it up". And, nevermind the fact telling people to shut up by PM asking them to stop complaining, I mean, no one can question the lil' admins decisions or what they censor...

Yup, you adminis are doing your job admirably, I have to say, you deserve a round of applause for how you're directing the site lately. No one can do it any better.

Heh, creating a mess? At least I recognized my mistake (which was serious, of course I admitted it) and apologized, unlike some other people here who screw up in ways way worse than mine...

Just my 2 cents but the chat sucks these days. I loved it back when it was a nice chat where we could talk about everything with a bunch of cool people that didn't idle.

@zex: No one has ever been told to shut up unless they where posting inappropriate things, in that case its our job to tell them to stop... and again... had you done your job in the first place maybe we would not have had to run things more tightly... if your fine with cursing and porn and promotion of drug use.. fine... go somewhere where its acceptable... if you think its ok to just stand around and complain when you could have been constructively working together with other people... great... find people who think that sort of thing is ok... but don't go on insulting the people who try to keep this place running... Im not saying we are doing a perfect job but at least we are talking to people and trying to handle things properly... all I've ever see you do is complain, say you know everything better and insult people... so yeah... I bet you would do a so much better job...

A couple of things.

1. Back when it was a "nice chat" when people didn't idle all the time was when there was 2 or 3 people in there at any given time. And maybe you can do stuff to prevent idlers. I've tried to talk to you several times. Most I get out of you usually is a "hi" then nothing.

In fact. I don't see the problem with idlers. There is usually one or two people in there that are willing to talk if you want to. Whenever I want to talk it's as simple as just saying something myself...

2. How would you know? It was stopped way before you got on, iirc.

The identify rule is on probation until further notice. It was in effect for all of 20 minutes and then i tossed it until further notice. all bans had been removed. I do not see how that is anything but a technical difficulty.

I also never told anyone to shut up. If someone has a legitimate complaint by all means bring it up. I will do what i can to help. If you are just going to complain about how things have deteriorated then don't say anything, but instead do something to change it.

If all you want to do is bitch and moan, however, then by all means let it out at once and lets get it out of the system and past it. But, if you do that, and don't temper your opinion, I fear things could get out of hand.

All I know is that you two have wanted to instaurate a chat where you can only talk about what you two want, and I'm not even talking about Wes, who, yes, crossed the line a bit, but f'uck it, the prude lady tried to censor us when we were talking about VGC users (that are NOT members of here and never will be) as if she ever gave a f'uck about it (and it's not like she NEVER talked crap about some people from there, ioi rings a bell?), examples like that are dime a dozen of things that you two want to censor know who-knows-why. And yes, you with your censorship and all these stupid changes are making it for the worse, why do you even think budda left (he was sick of being told "don't talk about this, oh, I'm back to idle", or even more clear, why do you think dtewi left if it's not for the "monkey-with-a-banhammer" tendencies of some people...

Last time I talked to dtewi that's not why he said he left. In fact iirc he agreed with is ban, but i'd have to log in with j1 to confirm that

I don't say that dtewi's ban was unfair, it was technically fair (though obviously harsh), but I'm certain, and he has told me so, that he's angry because the ban was handled horribly, as usual from the one who banned him, with the policy "ban first, ask later", as Savior had done the same if not more to be banned, and he was left unpunished just because the mod couldn't be bothered to read a bit. I know for certain that dtewi was bothered by that

It was more the the tipping point, but if you just do a nice wall to wall with him on your wall he spells out pretty clearly why he left, and he basically spelled out the members to me in a couple conversations. And it was clear by his interactions with said people in chat

Zex there is a huge difference between having rules and being lenient with them and having no rules at all... and there is a difference between a chat with the occasional (non-insulting) cursing/sex talk and constant aggressive cursing/all out sex talk... you obviously don't see any differences there cause you think its ok to insult other members here whenever you feel like it... Im doing my best to make it right for everyone and all you do continue to complain and insult... I'm sick and tired of hearing you say you know whats best for everyone and you know whats appropriate and what not...

My bad about the second one. Thought its still active since it says so when you join the chat (Please identify yourself or something)

And no, it wasn't two people. I'm looking at my log from July and I've had a nice chat almost every day, with 3-4 people at least. Ok, that was during the summer vacation, but it was the same story earlier in the year.

All of those things that you listed in the part that was "cool" were ALL AGAINST THE RULES. The enforcement issue was why you and others were brought in to help for a time. If any of those things happened while i was there, I was obviously AFK. I cannot be responsible to take action if i do not see something, or it is not brought to my attention.

You were taking part in things that were against the rules, so now that we are trying to enforce them you are bitching. If you want anarchy, this is not the place to have it.

The admins are not always available, but we try to be around as much as we can be. We brought you, pichu, and dsis into the fold to help with enforcement. It was under YOUR watch that things got out of hand to a point that we had to step in and remove your power and take a heavy handed role in all things.

Also, this monkey-with-a-banhammer will stand behind and defend my actions regarding the banning of dtewi at that time. I reread it all and savior also got in the mudslinging, but several times tried to leave and never started it any of those times. dtewi did and exploded. I removed him for a time for that. If you have a problem, go cry in your pillow.

Your being banned was not intentional zex... other people got banned too cause the chat system obviously didn't work... which is why it went back to the old one after 20 minutes... I don't get what your huge problem with that is... stop calling people a liar for no reason at all... Im not saying you where the biggest problem around here but you where more part of it then you where of any solution... just cause you never comprehended the rules and don't understand the concept of being lenient in a time when abuses are few and widespread does not mean there are no rules... so again... if insults vulgarities and arrogance are such a integral part of you personality that you can't express your individuality without them please take them to a place where they are tolerated...

My problem with that, as I've said many times, is that I'm fed up with you two trying to impose new limitations on the chat, first was the "only if logged in", then you couldn't even register for the site without we telling you to enable signins, then ipbanning everyone who didn't register, who knows what's next? Maybe you should try "chat only for those with 100 posts or more", or "only for admins", it'd be expected with the number of limitations you tried to impose.

I find kind of funny that you try to criticize my "lack of rules", I admit i'm liberal and thus lenient in those things, but, y'know, the admin group isn't exactly renowned for their total respect of them. I mean, does this ring a bell?
