How do you travel?

When you travel somewhere how do you get there. I am very interested to see the results.

i drive. Not much more to say about it...

It would take forever for me to walk or bike anywhere, and public transportation is non-existant out here so I have to say by car.

Though lawnmowers are also a popular form of transportation around here

Everywhere is walking distance if you have the time...

Mostly public transportation but bike, by foot or on a skateboard occasionally.

Having buses that take me anywhere for cheap is one of the reasons that I'm not too concerned in learning how to drive

same, I don't really see the point, it's highly unlikely I would ever need to go somewhere that I can't get to by Bus and/or Train, it's also cheaper than learning to drive, geting a car, getting insurance, paying insurance and paying for petrol.

But guys... think about when you want to take your boyfriend/girlfriend to some place. Wouldn't it be more appropriate to meet them with your own car and stuff? Also, I take the bus for now, but I know I'll have to learn how to drive soon because of work placement (not sure if those are the correct words) in my university program.

I guess it can become a necessity after some time. Buses get on my nerves recently... The cool thing is that I don't have to learn how to drive manual cars, automatics exist and it's 10x better in my opinion. Why complicate my life just to look "cool" or something?

meh, there's plenty of public transport where I live, enough that you are never more than walking distance from where you need to go

No. My boyfriend tried didn't care to learn to drive either, so he uses public transportation as much as me. I don't need to impress him, and besides, public transportation is probably cheaper than the gas...I mean, sure, it's slower, but it's not like it's a huge nuisance. We truly have a good network here

As for sfb and zex saying you don't need to learn how to drive. All I can say is I guess. I wont argue but being in your own private car with girlfriend/boyfriend is a great feeling. (Not that I've ever actually taken a girl out somewhere romantic we just made out in it)

I walk to any place aside from work. I take the bus there.
I also drive a car, very rarely though.

I drive, hate buses love trains and wish there was a better transportation system here.

That said I would never recommend that anybody not learn something. Learning how to drive is not real hard nor expensive. If you live in the US and ever plan on leaving New York you would have to be a Moron not to get a drivers license.

Obviously in Europe you are generally OK just using public transport, and I am not familiar with South America. I here all you need is a donkey

public transportation is generally better here... far from perfect but much better than in the US... but then again europe is more dense population wise so its easier... and yeah I like trains too but can't stand busses... also getting drivers license may be cheap in the US... but here its expencive as hell... I really wish I could have gotten it in the US while I was living there...

Public transportation here isn't necessarily "good"...it's just cheap as hell and it gets you anywhere, that's why it's so convenient. I mean, I'm not gonna pretend that our buses are a luxury, they're not, the subway is frequently delayed, and so, if you had to to pay a lot no one would use it, the fact that it's cheaper than a snack is what makes it so massive

In my car... I live in the suburbs so its kind of difficult to walk everywhere or take public transport.

I car pool with the family since I don't have my own, like all the other cool kids T.T

Unfortunately, I drive, but I also do that for a living, so I guess it's not too bad. I could take public transport into DC, but that's really about it, since the Metro system here sucks. (I want the NYC subway system here...)
