Arc Rise Fantasia

Is anybody planning on getting this when its released in North America later this month? I was reading Nintendo Power and it seemed to get a decent review and definitely sounds like something I'd really like since I'm a huge Tales fan and because we definitely won't be getting Graces.
One thing though.. bad voice acting can ruin a game. Seriously. That's one thing they mentioned in the review plus on youtube clips I've heard some terrible voice acting.

Hmmm.. Maybe I should wait until the game actually comes out before starting this thread. I don't know of any Japanese here.

*raises hand* Yes, we'll be getting it. When I'll be able to get aroun to play it, though, may be another matter. I've learned to just get games I want when I see them, so if I ever get the urge to play it in the future, I already have it.

Not sure if I will be getting it or not, probably wait until it drops in price first and see how it is reviewed before I decide. And if you guys do get it I can ask your opinion before buying it too.

I will definitely check this out. I had my eye on it when it was announced, though, i didn't know it was going to launch this month till recently.

Funny thing is JP voices aren't that much better. The english VA is complete shit but even JP quality is low so it sucks either way.

Dawn of the New World got un-dubbed. Hopefully this does too so I'll wait for that but I will definitely be getting this game for a number of reasons.

-imagepooch makes neat games
-Luminous Arc witch cameos. (They better be in the NA version)

Sad to say this game is getting sent to die in the US all thanks to Ignitions shitty localization.

I think I'm just going to rent this game for a week or something. Nowadays I only buy RPGs that include some kind of New Game+. They should all have that option actually.

I don't think so. I have too many games I want above it(+ a laptop). Sin and Punishment 2,Sengoku Basara Samurai Heroes, 3DDGH, Deathsmiles, Monster Hunter Tri(granted anyone is still playing when I buy it), and a couple more games >_<

That isn't to say I don't want this game... just there are other games I want more.

The awesome thing about this is since I don't understand Japanese anywyas, I'll have no clue if it sounds right or not.

But I'm on the fence on this game, I'll be with mako and wait to see reviews and it go down in price. I don't wanna waste 50 bucks in buying a game I may not like.

If you bought it, no reason to feel bad playing a burned copy. I actually never finished playing the undub version. Rie Kugimiya voices Marta so it's automatically 100x better than the English version. That said the VA for the English version wasn't bad. It just had terrible writing...or a bad localization. "Courage is the magic that turns dreams into reality..." that doesn't sound right...

The voice acting in Dawn of the New World wasn't horrible... even Marta wasn't bad. It is unfortunate that it is the only JRPG in the traditional sense thats been released in this country so far. If they would just do English text for ARF then that would be better.

I dislike Rie Kugimiya. Fortunately, English VA was good.

Yes, the voice acting is horrible.. but I keep hearing people say the localization is horrible alltogether. I think you can turn off the voice acting.

and the voice acting is not good but its not so bad that it ruins the game either... I've seen WAY worse. Can't get over how Tales-like this game is.. which is a good thing because it doesn't look like the world outside Japan will be getting any new Tales games any time soon.

If you like JRPGs.. you will like this game and should buy it!

Well, according to that site which has weekly sales charts on video games, ARF sold over 22,000 in its first week in North America.. (if you belive that sort of thing..) not bad for a year old port of a game which has no advertising and obviously very little localization budget.
