How to join IRC from Pidgin

Connecting to IRC using Pidgin it is simple really, but tedious the first time.

1. From the buddy list of Pidgin, click on "Accounts" then click "Manage Accounts".
2. From the new window click "Add". You should remember the window that pops up.
   
3. Now click the AIM button so it drops a list for you to select "IRC" from.
   
4. Enter your username from NS. *Without Spaces or Underscores*
   
5. The server is "irc.bob-omb.net" and leave the Password and Alias fields blank.
   --If you registered your nick, then enter the password for the account under your nick.
   
6. Click "Save" and you are half way done.
   
7. Now click the little "Enabled" button next to your new IRC account.
   -You should log onto the server just fine now.
   
8. Go back to the "Buddy List" and click "Buddies" then click "Add Chat".
   
9. Select the correct IRC account.
   
10. The Channel is "#nschat" and again there is no password. Select "autojoin" and click "Add".
    
11. You are done. If the room did not open automatically, open it from your buddy list! Start Chattin'!

Might wanna tell them when u first try to connect to IRC channel 3-4 chat pop ups telling u non sense just exit don't worry ..... other then that great instructions even a dumb ass like me figured it out.

Hopefully this works ...... To bad I can't join from iPod.

OK, I've done it, I think I did it ok. So, we'll be using this instead of Nschat?

I couldn't make, there are 2 #nschat and i joined the one that nobody use

Luinil: We fixed this. he was logged into the wrong IRC server.

Which Chat are we going to use?

I think it's consensus to use the IRC instead of AIM, now, you can use whatever client you want to join it, be it Pidgin or the embedded chat in NS

I'll use the AIM chat and only the AIM chat.

IRC isn't usable during the day for me.

It is an IM that can work with just about any service you have. You can use it for AIM, MSN, etc instead of there stand alones those products offer. On top of that you will be able to access the chat here from the IM so you wouldn't have to open a web page to chat with people.
