I'll just say its very amusing to me that the newly reviewed games are lit on fire.

We removed all inflammatory content. So if you go off about people being dumb or something that will be removed. But everyone is more then welcome to talk about VGC however start talking about people and that will be a problem. Talking about sales numbers or anything else is fine.

It's unnecessarily cumbersome and badly designed as far as style goes... me no likey.

I like it. I only really used the Forums to be honest, and they look nice (if you Ad-Block that horrible clown Modern Warfail 2 DLC background).

Well if the thread derails we can stop it, or edit it for the better.

The new site(s) are awful.

Too much ad space (still auto playing).
Too difficult to easily maneuver from one part of the site to another.
Too much green on the forums. (everything being green + the white background is not pleasing to the eyes)

They basically took the best parts of 2.0, cut them, sold their souls to advertisers and remade the page.

Tho I will say someone put a hell of a lot of effort into making that page.

From my quick view of the "hub" ... i don't like that...

They also screwed up a lot of there news feeds, as that is what we use for the VGC page here but half of them are down.

I honestly think it's better than 2.0.... but 2.0 wasn't good either.

I VERY MUCH dislike how everything is separated. Going back and forth between 4 pages is a hassle and the hub is worthless as it doesn't even provide enough information about each page. I would expect the hub to have everything on it like on 2.0. Also I dislike how they are trying to copy Face book and then have updates every time someone rates a game or anything. I don't want to see that someone rated 100 game, lol.

After the recent update with a return of the post bar on the left it is a little better to navigate the forums, but the site is just too "white" everywhere and then the green on white hurts my eyes. Doesn't go good together. The thread pages are especially too "white", there has to be some other color involved like shades of gray. Also, it doesn't show if people are online and as far as I know there are still no hot topics area.

Could they make it better? Yes. But, it will require a lot more work. I really think they should have asked the community question before starting to get rid of things like IM, hot topics, etc. And with 4 pages I doubt I will look through all of them. Maybe just look at the charts once and a while and then go to the forums if I can find an interesting thread. (Which is practically impossible right now)

2.0>3.0 for me by far and unless the condense the 4 sites back to 1 it always will be. Of course I liked 1.0 more than 2.0 as well. It gets worse every time. lol

It's, to put it simple, unadultered shit. It's crap, I hate the split, and gamrConnect is a f'ucking mess that only will be fixed with a lot of time. The colors are simply awful, the site lacks simple functionality that 2.0 had (WHERE THE F'UCK IS VGC IM), and it doesn't do anything oooohhhh to justify the change, it's a broken mess that can't justify its existance, never mind the fact that now I won't ever check reviews or sales because they aren't even in the same f'ucking site.

Piece o' crap, not even the new game collection or the points system can save it, it's going downhill and I'm gonna love seeing it

It took a TON of the SHIT OUT from 2.0 which is the worst site I have ever come across. The game collection part got an awesome overhaul. The threads are now readable and clean. The way I always farting wanted them.

As for the rest of the shit. I never gave a damn about the numbers so I don't care that it's been split. VGC news is old rehashed shit you can find on other sites much sooner. I don't care about their reviews or editorials either. And that black/gray/orange scheme was disgusting.

Basically all the parts of the site I had a problem with got cleaned up and actually work and look good now so I might become active again.

For lurkers I bet the site is much better now too since its not cluttered the fart up. If you want numbers you got a clean site just with numbers you dont have to see that shitty header changing news panel cluttered with shit news and forum posts etc. Anybody who uses VGC for news purposes is an idiot I'm sorry. As for people bitching about VGCIM honestly you could just start a a farting VGC IRC channel and if you think 2.0 looked better than 3.0 you are delusional. If you complain about the ads there is always adblock and if you refuse to use it for whatever reason thats your problem.

Now it's a hassle to get from place to place, and the colors aren't nice. It looks cleaner, but the forums took a big hit. In 2.0 you could go to hot topics n a matter of seconds... now it's ugh.

Y'all haters that just don't want to adapt to change. This is seriously for the best. I can't believe how slick the new sites look.

No offense, but I'd like you to make a better forum than this.

I made two Zelda sites in the past with some pre-made forum modules. The bests that I could find were Invision or vBulletin Boards with pre-made themes where I could just switch colors. I'm not saying my forums were not nice looking, but it was cheap and difficult to make something nice. This is a custom built forum that I can really like. I can't wait to see all the bugs fixed and the more customized profiles we will have.

Just for fun, what colour theme and fonts would you prefer? Black on white has been there forever and while Calibri is not so common it's not ugly either. I don't see why people are panicking about it now.

Well I guess I will throw in my two cents.

1st thing I have to get out of the way is that neon green text is almost always a bad idea. Its is very difficult for me to read as it is for most the population, dull down the saturation at least.

The opening page is not a bad design its just not a finished design. It seems very cluttered and there is zero horizontal alignment on anything which would be fine if there was better separation but there is not. They style they are going for can be very function they just need to work on the layout.

The four card menu they have is a joke. You would be laughed out of any design school or studio if you presented that. The end goal for all web design that is not some art site is to get you to your destination in as few clicks as possible.

I also would highly question the choice to use 1887 or misspelled words for section of the site. While gamrConnect probably sounded cool when they discussed it looks unprofessional and does not say forum to me. When you do all parts of a site for profit you have to pretend you are fishing and when you fish you use the biggest net possible. That means using words that the most people understand for navigation, and making everywhere as easy to get to as possible.

I like some of the ideas but that's the problem. The site is just a bunch of ideas that have not been fully flushed out. With some polish and refinement I think the new system would work extremely well. The look (outside the green) is fine. Just the layout and navigation need to be worked on.

Bottom line this should not have been published and the developer need better quality control as its not finished and there are a lot of little problems that could have been easily fixed.

If I were a pro network programmer, you can bet that I'd make it better. The ones who made that site have the skills, but sure as hell miss any designer taste.

I have to agree that I never thought about the business side of this. I mean, my site was just a medium-sized fansite that I created to perfect my coding skills (I've been out of the loop though, I mean CSS arrived and a bunch of new stuff like that)...

Oh well, I'm lucky I'm not in ioi's pants at the moment!

I don't know how you can say that bright green over white is better than white over black/grey....2.0 was perfectly readable, the color was great.
